About Casauri

When my sister Helena and I started Casauri in 1999, it was still a class project I was working on while at Columbia Business School. At the time, there was a dearth of expressive cases for technology gear, until Helena, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, made me a bag that started to attract attention. Our goal is to make our customers happy by designing products that make their lives more simple and fun. Casauri has received international recognition in magazines from Vogue to Travel+Leisure and was the first laptop case sold at the MoMA Design Store in New York. Casauri is also available across the US and internationally (including Australia, Brazil, France, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Canada). For a list of select stores, click here.
The majority of emails we receive from our customers have one word in common – LOVE. People express their love for their Casauri bag and their glee to finally have a laptop bag that is reflective of their individual style. We love you too!!
We are often asked about the origin of the Casauri name. We took the “ca-” from the French “caméléon” and the “-sauri” from the reptile family Sauria – this reflects our capacity to change, evolve, and grow. The ball logo, akin to a beach ball, represents the coiled tail of the chameleon, suggestive of cohesion in the midst of change.
Thank you for the opportunity to continue designing products just for you.
Emily and Helena McHugh
